Four years later, Bob joined Provident National Bank where he worked as a portfolio manager. In 1973, he then became a part of New Jersey National Bank as an investment officer, and during this time he also worked as an adjunct professor of finance in Rider College. The following year, he became the vice president and investment counselor of the Bank of New York, a position he held for seven years before becoming the US chief investment officer at the Guardian Royal Exchange Assurance. He is also a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the CFA Institute.
While doing financial work in the 1970s, Bob hosted weekend radio talk shows as part of WWDB and WCAU – he also did play-by-play for Villanova and La Salle college basketball games. In 1981, he was first hired by New York City based WMCA to host an investment talk show.
