Verne Troyer Wiki Biography

Verne Troyer was born on 1 January 1969, in Sturgis, Michigan, USA, and is well known as an actor and a stunt performer. Verne has achieved high recognition partly because of being only two feet eight inches – 81cm – tall, the result of a cartilage-hair hypoplasia dwarfism condition that made Troyer one of the shortest men in the world.

So just how rich is Verne Troyer? Sources estimate that Verne’s net worth has reached the sum of $10 million as of 2015, the vast majority of his wealth having been earned through his career as an actor spanning over 20 years.

Verne Troyer Net Worth $10 Million

Verne Troyer has a sister and a brother, and states that his parents nurtdure all their children equally, no matter that Verne was far  smaller than other siblings; he had to do the same household chores on the farm as the other two. Maybe this upbringing encouraged him to look for his own way to express personality. Verne Troyer started his career as a stuntman in ‘Baby’s Day Out’, directed by Partrick Read Johnson, in 1994, the same roles he undertook in the films ‘Duston Checks In’, ‘Jingle All the Way’, and ‘Pinocchio’s Revenge’. In 1997 he was cast in his first role of Alien Son, in ‘Men in Black’, directed by Barry Sonnenfeld,  with outstanding actors as Tommy Lee Jones, Linda Fiorentino and Will Smith. Verne Troyer net worth was increasing quickly as the producers of the film ‘Men in Black’ announced box office takings which exceeded $589 million. After this successful role, in the next two years Troyer played parts in films like ‘Wishmaster’, ‘My Giant’, ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’, ‘The Wacky Adventures of Ronald McDonald: Scared Silly’, ‘Mighty Joe Young’, ‘Here Lies Lonely’ and ‘Instinct’, all of which contrbuted consistently to his growing net worth.

In 1999 Troyer took a hugely successful step to gaining considerable net worth, when he appeared in the action comedy film ‘Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me’ which was directed by Jay Roach with Verne playing his prominent role of Mini Me. In 2000, ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ directed by Ron Howard was released which also made an impact on Verne’s net worth because the film collected three Academy Award Nominations. In 2001 Troyer created the character of Griphook the Goblin in the well-known fantasy film directed by Chris Columbus, ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’. This has also greatly increased Verne Troyer’s net worth. In 2002 he had a chance to reprise his remarkable role of Mini Me, because New Line Cinema distributed the third part of the Austin Powers film series, ‘Austin Powers in Goldmember’.

As Verne Troyer became a famous celebrity, he even got to act himself in several films, including ‘Pauly Shore is Dead’ directed by Pauly Shore, ‘Postal’ directed by Uwe Boll and ‘College’ by Deb Hagan. Troyer played himself not only in films but also in the TV series ‘The Girls Next Door’ and ‘Celebrity Big Brother 6’, and appeared in chat shows ‘Friday Night with Jonathan Ross’, ‘The Paul O’Grady Show’ and others.

Troyer’s net worth was rather high all these years that he has been seen on the screen, but despite, or perhaps because of, the fame he has struggled with an addiction to alcohol and cocaine. Interestingly, Verne apparently married and then divorced model Genevieve Gallen in the space of two days.

#Quote
1People have a good time with all the catch phrases.
2I think when average-size people start taking roles that were meant for dwarfs, that's a little frustrating because there aren't that many roles out there for height-challenged actors.
3If I did everything, I probably wouldn't be here talking to you. There aren't too many people who can actually double me, so I do most of my stunts though.
4There's times when you're having dinner with a good friend and you're in the middle of a conversation and somebody comes up and cuts you off. Can you sign this? Can I take a picture with you? I'm adjusting to all the attention.
5What I really enjoy the most is seeing what the crowd likes. I enjoy making people laugh.
6I went to see the film with a regular audience for the first time on Sunday, and was basically swamped.
7In high school and college all my friends and my brother wrestled.
8I was just the perfect person to play the Mini-Me character.
9I think it was a good challenge for me to get my reactions across without being able to speak.
10I'll be one of the Who's of Whoville.
11I just take it one day at a time. Austin Powers has given me a lot of opportunities as far as my career.
12I felt probably more uncomfortable than Beyonce. But I can't answer for her.
13I still pinch myself that I ended up in Hollywood. And I am still surprised at the fans.
14I've done approximately 15 films, and most of the things I've done have either been stunt or costume work.
15I grew up in Michigan, in a very small town, Centreville. In my graduating class, I had like 92 people.
16L.A. is so fake - girls there are so superficial.
17Now I get to pick and choose exactly what I want to do.
18It's hard for me to even watch comedies I'm in.
19Me being able to beat up Austin Powers? I mean, how great can that be?
20In the film, I'm not very mobile, like in the space suit.
21The Amish like to live a very plain lifestyle, the way they think God intended. It sort of brings you back to, like, 'Little House on the Prairie' days or something.
22I'm a big sports fan. College football is my favorite.
23There's nobody else that can double me - except for a doll.
24Doing stunt work is risky, but it's something I enjoy.
25In Men in Black, it was a very small character, no pun intended.
26I was working at a candy-wrapping factory before I became an actor. I admit I snuck some hard candy, which is great because you can suck on it while you're working.
27I stay away from the elf roles; I stay away from playing a leprechaun. All the roles I try to do are something that an average actor would do.
28I love London. I would move here. I like British people; everybody is so down to earth.
29I can play the leading man. I can play the action hero, maybe in just a different way. I look at it as, you know, if you set your mind to it, you can do it.
30We were doing the dance routine and I dislocated my knee. I've been doing stunts for a long time and it's kind of weird that I'd dislocate my knee just dancing.
31Between takes I asked Vern how tall he is and he said "I'm 32 inches tall but if you ask me how tall I am I'll tell you 'I'm two foot eight!' because it sounds bigger." (said with a wry grin in the mid-1990s)
#Fact
1While both sides of Verne's family have lived in the United States (mostly Pennsylvania) since the 1700s, Verne is still entirely of German descent (including Swiss-German). The "Troyer" family originates in Emmental, Bern, Switzerland.

3Acting as a celebrity spokesman in a Geico auto insurance commercial. [September 2006]

5The Celebrity Big Brother (2001) house, Hertfordshire, England. [January 2009]
6Guest-hosted WWE Raw (1993). [November 2009]
7Mage(sp) video game/commercial. [December 2007]
8Has a brief appearance in Moby's "We Are All Made of Stars" video.
9Verne and his date were voted King and Queen at their high school prom.
10Verne loves to play video games in his spare time.
11Verne loves college football. His favorite team is the Michigan Wolverines. He says his second favorite team is "whoever's playing Notre Dame."
12Verne has to do all of his own stunts because there isn't anyone small enough to fill in!
13Announced engagement to his yoga instructor/girlfriend, Genevieve Gallen, and plans to wed in November 2003. In August of 2003, Verne denied the earlier reports that he and girlfriend Genevieve Gallen were to be married. His reps said that he had never even asked her. They wed in January of 2004, but were in the process of a divorce as of fall 2006.
14Threw out the first ball at the San Diego Padre vs. Los Angeles Dodger game on June 30, 1999. It wasn't from the mound, of course.
