Armie Hammer to pay ex Elizabeth Chambers just $1,500 a month in child support amid career drought

August 2024 · 5 minute read

Armie Hammer is on the hook for a shockingly small sum of child support to his ex-wife Elizabeth Chamber due to his vanished work prospects.

The disgraced 36-year-old Call Me By Your Name actor will pay the 40-year-old television host just $1,500 in support for their two children — Harper, eight, and Ford Douglas Armand, six — according to a judgment obtained by Page Six.

Celebrity child support payments regularly run into the six figures, but Hammer’s vanishingly small amount is because he ‘does not have the income’ to pay more at this time.

However, Chambers appears to be understanding of his current financial struggles, as the document notes that she compromised with him on the child support figure.

The latest development follows a report from Wednesday revealing that the exes had agreed to ‘share joint legal custody’ of their children.

Although Hammer will be paying an amount appropriate to his current lack of work, both he and Chambers will have to update the court with their current income every six months, and either party could request a reevaluation of the support agreement upon any major changes.

If the former A-lister is able to star booking film or television roles again, he may end up paying significantly more in the future.

Hammer and Chambers also agreed that neither would receive spousal support as part of their divorce agreement.

Hammer and Chambers were married from May 2010 until their separation in July 2020.

A previous report from court documents obtained by The Blast revealed that the exes will ‘share joint legal custody’ of their children and have both agreed they won’t give the children candy while in their care.

The documents also revealed that Hammer will keep all of the royalties and residuals earned through his work as an actor, including his most recent film, 2022’s Death on the Nile.

Hammer was also allowed to keep a GMC Denali vehicle and his life insurance policy, though the court ordered the actor to repay his ex-wife’s mother for a loan, ‘in the sum of $285,000, plus applicable interest.’

Hammer and Chambers both agreed to, ‘confer in advance and in good faith on matters having to do with the education, educational placement, religious training, medical treatment, and other aspects of the health and welfare.’

The agreement also sets forth rules forbidding each other from giving their children candy and showcasing in any form of media.

The documents state that, ‘neither Party shall publish, cause to be published, or consent to the publication of any photographs or personal information of the Minor Children in magazines, newspapers, television, radio, or other media, without providing the other Party with reasonable advance notice of the intended publication.’

‘This provision is intended to apply to formal publications and interviews, and is not intended to restrict either Party from casually speaking about the Minor Children, such as during a red carpet interview or other unscheduled interaction regarding which advance notice to the other Party would not be feasible,’ the documents added.

The documents also allow photos of the children, ‘on any form of social media,’ though there are restrictions there as well.

The physical location of the children must not be tagged in the photos, and the photos must not contain any physical landmarks that would give away their location.

The agreement also forbids both parties from publishing photos on social media that features the logo or the name of their children’s schools.

It is also revealed that both Hammer and Chambers intend to return to Los Angeles at some point and will participate in co-parenting counseling sessions.

The agreement also includes language that permits both parties from speaking of the other in a negative light around the children.

‘Neither Party shall make, nor knowingly allow anyone else to make, any negative, disparaging or derogatory comments about the other Party in the presence of or within earshot of the Minor Children and each party shall remove the Minor Children immediately from any third party doing so,’ the agreement reads.

‘This shall include, but not be limited to, family members, friends, or any other third parties in the presence of or within earshot of the Minor Children,’ it continues.

The agreement adds that neither party shall smoke cigarettes in front of the children, and they must both also refrain from giving the children candy when they’re with them.

The court documents read: ‘The parties acknowledge and agree that it is not in the Minor Children’s best interest to consistently have candy during either parent’s respective custodial times, and the parties shall refrain from giving the Minor Children candy during each visit.’

The agreement adds that neither party shall introduce a new romantic partner to the children unless they’ve been with that partner exclusively over six months, and they must get the other parent’s permission before doing so.
